For as long as I could remember, I had dreamed of being an elegant housewife with beautiful babies running around my insanely organized and cleaned home, all the while, a healthy and hearty dinner awaited my hardworking husband. Call me old school if you must, but this idea of a perfect little life was my lifelong dream. Fast forward to now, these dreams are not so out of reach. I feel that I have a calling to be a Proverbs 31 woman & homemaker. I am Sabrina Belaire, a college Momma, Southern wife, growing Christian, and a modern day fifties-wanna-be housewife. I am currently attending college to become an early childhood educator with graduation quickly approaching. I have a curious and playful toddler son named Isaac who was born on my husband and I's 2nd year wedding anniversary. He is everything we could have every prayed for in a child and we are so smitten with him.  Fun fact, my husband Jamie and I met on...MYSPACE! I was a freshmen and he was a senior ...

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a curious toddler, pets, and everything else, our home isn't always picture perfect--- like I'd prefer it to be. And full disclosure, sometimes it is complete chaos! I always joke that it takes so long to clean but gets messy so freaking fast! I've been convinced that my one year old has a super power for making a mess. Some days I just sit back in awe at the random things laying around the floor, the toilet bowl brush that Isaac insists on playing with laying in the living room, the crumbs scattered on the floor, the mountain of laundry sitting in baskets that I can't seem to control, the dishes that have piled up from just a couple nights dinner and being to tired to clean it. And it doesn't stop there. Ladies....Mommas, I know you're with me. And all I can think about is "How did it get like this so quickly?!" And my working Mommas, after a long day, the last thing we want to do is come home to work more!

As a homemaker, having a clean home is so important for me and when it does get messy, it's hard for me to focus and not freak out. I don't like mess. When my family comes home from a long and busy day, our homes should be a place of rest and peace. My husband works so hard, and often, long late nights, to provide for our family and I believe that coming home to a clean, orderly, peaceful oasis is one way that I can show appreciation to him for all he does for our family.

The only thing that I have found that works is to focus on one room at a time. If I am home with Isaac, I usually get him busy playing in a designated location; some days it's his room, other days it's in baby jail.... I mean his pack N play. On lucky occasions, I can ask the hubby to take him out of the house for a couple hours. Side note: Am I the only one that needs the house to herself to really be productive? Like I said, focus on one room at a time. I follow a room-by-room cleaning guide to help me deep clean the house. You may want to do the same or focus on the obvious messes such as the laundry, dishes, and picking up the random messes. Here is my deep cleaning guide. You may follow the same or create your own version to fit your family.
